Joel Schoenhals and Michael Boyd
Piano Duo

 

Joel Schoenhals and Michael Boyd present twentieth century and American works for one piano, four hands, including Stravinsky’s Petrouchka (Burlesque Scenes in Four Tableaux). Both Boyd and Schoenhals hold Masters and Doctoral degrees and Performer’s Certificates from the Eastman School of Music. Boyd is Professor of Piano at University of Toledo and in addition to many solo recitals, he has been the featured concerto soloist with the Rochester Philharmonic, Milwaukee and Toledo Symphonies. Schoenhals is Assistant Professor of Piano at EMU, where he received an Artistic Recognition Award and New Faculty Award. Schoenhals recently released his first recording, Bartok’s “For Children,” and a recording of Schubert-Liszt transcriptions. A strong advocate of new music, Schoenhals has premiered both solo and chamber works in venues throughout the U.S.
