Suren Bagratuni and Friends
Cello Soloist, String Quartet and Piano

 

Suren Bagratuni, internationally distinguished cellist, performs with Yizhak Schotten, viola, Yehonatan Berrick, violin, and Katherine Collier, piano. Repertoire includes Debussy’s Sonata for Cello in D Minor, Beethoven’s String Trio in G Major, and Brahm’s G Minor Piano Quartet. Bagratuni has performed with the Moscow Philharmonic, Armenian Philharmonic, Boston Pops, L'Orchestre Jeune Philharmonie in Paris, the Weimar Staatskapelle, the Philharmonic Orchestras of Restock and Erfurt, and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Halle in Berlin and has appeared in numerous international chamber music festivals. Schotten, also an international soloist, was violist with the Boston, Cincinnati and Houston Symphonies. Berrick was a prizewinner at the 1993 Naumburg Competition and a recipient of the 1996-97 Prix Opus. Collier was the top prizewinner of the National Young Artist’s Competition, the Cliburn Scholarship Competition and the recipient of a Rockefeller Award. Schotten, Berrick and Collier are on the faculty at the University of Michigan School of Music.
